W. R. Berkley Corporation has appointed Christopher L. Moede as president of its Berkley Risk unit, effective immediately. He succeeds John Goodwin, who becomes chairman of the business. Moede brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in commercial insurance, most recently leading a global underwriting segment at a major multinational insurer. Goodwin joined Berkley Risk in 2012 and served as president since 2014. Berkley Risk provides insurance program management and third-party administration services for groups including public entity pools, professional associations, and self-insured clients.
