W.R. Berkley Corporation reported second-quarter 2026 operating income of $1.27 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 16.5% and rising 21% year over year. Net premiums written were about $3.4 billion, up 2.4% year over year, while operating revenues totaled $3.8 billion, up 3.6% year over year. Net investment income grew 10.4% to $418.7 million, and catastrophe losses fell to $62.4 million from $99.2 million a year earlier. The consolidated combined ratio improved 160 basis points to 90, and book value per share increased 3% from 2025-end levels to $26.50. Total capital returned to shareholders was $334.1 million, including $111.5 million in share repurchases and $185.5 million in special dividends.
