U.S. stocks ended mixed on Thursday as the Dow jumped 594.83 points or 1.14 percent to 52,900.07, while the NASDAQ tumbled 207.36 points or 0.80 percent to 25,832.67 and the S&P 500 was nearly flat at 7,483.24. The market initially retreated after the Labor Department reported that non-farm payrolls rose by only 57,000 jobs in June, well below the expected 114,000, but sentiment later improved as the weak data eased fears of an immediate Federal Reserve rate hike. In other economic news, new orders for U.S. manufactured goods fell sharply in May and first-time jobless claims unexpectedly edged lower. Crude oil prices inched higher with West Texas Intermediate crude for August delivery up 5 cents to $68.63 per barrel.
