Alphabet Inc Class CWaymo integrates Gemini AI into new Ojai robotaxi, but also reports $1.8B operating loss on $382M revenue, creating mixed impact.

Alphabet's Waymo is integrating its Gemini AI assistant into the new Ojai robotaxi as an in-vehicle interface. Passengers can use Gemini to adjust cabin temperature, get journey information, and discover nearby restaurants and landmarks. The vehicle also features a redesigned interface with three independently operating screens for multiple riders. The Ojai, Waymo's sixth-generation purpose-built vehicle, began carrying select riders in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix in May. Waymo surpassed 500,000 fully autonomous rides per week in the first quarter, though Alphabet's Other Bets segment posted a $1.8 billion operating loss on $382 million in second-quarter revenue.
