Advanced Micro Devices IncAMD secured a milestone-contingent deal with Anthropic worth up to $5 billion for Instinct MI455X GPUs and Helios rack-scale systems.

Wells Fargo analyst Aaron Rakers maintained his $615 price target on AMD after the chipmaker confirmed a milestone-contingent deal with Anthropic worth up to $5 billion. Rakers said the agreement, which adds up to 2 gigawatts of Instinct MI455X GPUs and Helios rack-scale systems with the first gigawatt deploying in the first half of 2027, gives him further confidence in his above-consensus data center GPU revenue estimate of $40.6 billion for 2027. His 2027 earnings per share estimate of $13.40 runs roughly 3% ahead of Wall Street, while his 2028 estimate of $18.75 is about 8% above consensus. The $615 target is built on a 33 times earnings multiple applied to that 2028 number. AMD shares rose roughly 2% on July 22, adding to a year-to-date gain of more than 170%.
