Western Union CoQ2 earnings miss and lowered full-year guidance

Western Union reported second-quarter 2026 adjusted earnings per share of 31 cents, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 27.9% and declining 26.2% year over year. Total revenues were $1.01 billion, down 1.3% from the prior year but slightly above the consensus estimate. The earnings miss was driven by lower revenues and higher expenses in the Consumer Money Transfer retail business, lower margins in Consumer Services, and increased operating expenses, partially offset by growth in Branded Digital and Travel Money. The company lowered its full-year 2026 adjusted revenue growth guidance to 4-6% from 6-9% and cut its adjusted EPS outlook to $1.25-$1.35 from $1.75-$1.85, implying a 25.7% decline at the midpoint from 2025's $1.75.
