Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Myanmar's President Min Aung Hlaing in Beijing on Tuesday, pledging to deepen bilateral cooperation and support Myanmar's development. The visit, Min Aung Hlaing's first to China since taking office in April, comes shortly after the 76th anniversary of diplomatic ties. The two leaders witnessed the signing of 18 agreements and memoranda of understanding, including one on jointly advancing the Global Security Initiative. Xi emphasized China's non-interference policy and support for Myanmar's peace and reconciliation, while Min Aung Hlaing reaffirmed Myanmar's commitment to the one-China principle. Bilateral trade reached $19.4 billion in 2025, up 19.1 percent year-on-year.
