NVIDIA CorporationZ.AI's data center using only Chinese chips reduces reliance on Nvidia's products.
Z.AI has completed construction of a 1-gigawatt data center that it plans to fill exclusively with Chinese-made chips, a person familiar with the matter said. The company, formerly known as Zhipu, has begun partially operating the facility and has already installed at least 10,000 domestically produced semiconductors there. Z.AI now runs multiple computing clusters each with more than 10,000 locally designed chips across this and other data centers. The move advances Beijing's push to reduce reliance on restricted Nvidia silicon for artificial intelligence development. Z.AI shares closed up 37% on Tuesday.
