Earnings beat and raised guidance drive stock surge.

Zebra Technologies stock surged 20.3% on Tuesday after the company reported adjusted second-quarter earnings of $6.35 per share, far above the analyst consensus of $4.36 and its own guidance range. Sales rose 20.4% to $1.56 billion, with organic growth of 9.2% and gains in every region. Management raised full-year earnings per share guidance to $20.75 to $21.25, up from the prior range of $18.30 to $18.70, and lifted free cash flow guidance past $1 billion. CEO Bill Burns said the company's revenue ceiling is set by memory chip supply rather than customer demand, and that the second-quarter beat was partly due to securing more chips than expected.
