Zelensky says talks with US envoys progress, moving toward negotiations to end the war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that talks with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have made significant progress, with both sides discussing ways to return to negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war, security and economic guarantees for Ukraine, as well as aid measures for the winter season. Zelensky said Ukraine has high expectations from the United States, including support for air defense systems and energy, as well as expectations for large volumes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) support. In the third round of talks, representatives from Europe, including Britain, France, and Germany, also participated, and all three parties agreed to meet again to continue negotiations. Witkoff stated that talks with the Russian side in Moscow have made significant progress, and he hopes to announce trilateral negotiations soon. Earlier, two rounds of trilateral talks were held in Abu Dhabi and another in Geneva, but they have stalled since then.
