Summary · why it matters

Zhongrun Optical plans to invest approximately 1 billion yuan in the Jiaxing High-tech Industrial Development Zone to build a high-precision optical component R&D and industrialization base. The project includes two sub-projects: a smart manufacturing base and an upgrade of the R&D center, aiming to improve the company's layout in optical lenses and optical components and expand production capacity. Construction is expected to be completed within 24 months, with production starting within 36 months. On the same day, the company announced a private placement plan to raise no more than 1.004 billion yuan from up to 35 specific investors, all of which will be used for the base project. Zhongrun Optical previously focused on optical lenses, and after acquiring a 51% stake in Dais Optical in 2025, it entered the precision optical component field. This expansion will focus on enhancing mass production capabilities for lenses used in intelligent mobile robot perception, high-definition shooting and display, and advanced manufacturing inspection, while also increasing investment in glass aspherical molding and ultra-precision processing lines. The domestic precision optical market is experiencing rapid demand growth. In 2025, China's optical component market size grew 15% year-on-year to 204.5 billion yuan. Emerging fields such as smart vehicles and laser communications are seeing strong demand, and the industry is undergoing intensive capacity expansion. Around the same time, Lante Optics is also advancing a private placement of no more than 1.055 billion yuan for AR optical products and other projects. Zhongrun Optical's 2025 revenue was 658 million yuan, up 44.75% year-on-year, with net profit of 63.05 million yuan, up 18% year-on-year. In the first quarter of this year, revenue and net profit grew 67.74% and 44.71% respectively. The company has a strong order backlog and has already invested through industrial funds in key companies along the industry chain, including Blue Star Domain, Sanshiyuan, and Jinding Optical.

Microchip Technology's memBrain SAGE IP Selected by AnalogAI for Edge AI Processors

Microchip Technology has been selected by AnalogAI to supply its memBrain SAGE neuromorphic hardware IP for use in new edge AI processors. The collaboration centers on compute-in-memory technology targeting training and inference for adaptive robots, drones and vehicles, with AnalogAI planning to integrate memBrain SAGE into real-world, low-power AI systems designed for deployment at the network edge. Microchip Technology is a US-based semiconductor supplier with a roughly $38.5b market cap focused on smart, connected and secure embedded control solutions. The design win supports the edge-computing catalyst in the company's narrative, though analysts flag execution risk from competition, including edge-AI platforms from Nvidia and Qualcomm.

Runyang Technology unveils physical intelligent sensing material; centaur robot secures hundred-unit intent orders

Runyang Technology recently unveiled a new physical intelligent sensing material that is flexible and deformable, can be kneaded and rubbed, and captures pressure changes in real time. It can be applied to consumer health monitoring and human-machine interaction, while also enabling tactile perception in robots and precise sensing of gripping force. Runyang Technology mainly produces IXPE, XPE, IXPP, GFOAM, MPP, and EVA series prototype environmentally friendly foam materials, with products sold to 20 countries and regions and already integrated into the supply chain system of global home improvement giant Home Depot. In the first half of 2026, the company's R&D investment reached 8.62 million yuan, up 55 percent year on year. In the embodied intelligence sector, Runyang Technology has entered the special-purpose robotics field through its controlling subsidiary Shanghai Runke Juneng. At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Runke Juneng launched a centaur special-purpose robot focused on scenarios such as the nuclear industry, oil fields, mines, and fire and emergency response. It adopts a wheel-leg hybrid configuration, can carry an average load of up to 120 kilograms, and has a core component localization rate exceeding 95 percent. In 2025, the company made a strategic investment in humanoid robot company Fourier Intelligence, opening up embodied intelligence industry chain resources. It is reported that Runyang Technology's centaur robot has signed a hundred-unit-level intent order with Shanghai Huayan Fire Protection and has deployed a mining application scenario in Yulin, Shaanxi. Small-scale mass production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Synaptics CTS Tactile Sensing Module Gains NVIDIA Isaac Sim Support

Synaptics Incorporated announced that its first CTS tactile sensing module, powered by the SN6012T controller, is now supported within NVIDIA's Isaac Sim robotics simulation framework, letting developers prototype and validate contact and force interactions for dexterous robotic hands, grippers, and other Physical AI systems. The CTS module and Synaptics' Astra Edge AI processors integrate with NVIDIA Holoscan to unify touch, vision, and motion data, which could simplify how robotics teams design and test human-object interactions before deploying physical hardware. Synaptics' narrative projects $1.6 billion in revenue and $21.2 million in earnings by 2029, requiring 9.4% yearly revenue growth and a $512.0 million earnings increase from -$490.8 million today, and yields a $130.33 fair value, a 34% upside to its current price. The most optimistic analysts were assuming about US$1.7 billion in 2029 revenue and US$190 million in earnings, leaving investors to weigh whether the CTS Isaac Sim integration strengthens the Physical AI and humanoid robotics story or highlights how early and uncertain that market still is.
