WP107, a new drug for myasthenia gravis independently developed by Wanbangde Pharmaceutical, a wholly owned subsidiary of ST Wanbang, has received review approval from the Medical Ethics Committee of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University for its multiple-dose escalation clinical trial. WP107 is an oral solution of huperzine A that is more patient-friendly for those with difficulty swallowing. It has previously obtained orphan drug designation from the U.S. FDA and clinical trial approvals in both China and the United States, and received FDA approval for the multiple-dose escalation clinical trial in July 2026. This approval will allow the evaluation of pharmacokinetics, safety, and tolerability of multiple doses in healthy participants. The company cautioned that drug development is characterized by high investment, high risk, and long cycles, and will not affect performance in the short term.
