It operates through the Cellulose, Forest Heritage, and other segments. Its activities include bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp, forest land management and forestry services, renewable energy generation from agricultural and forestry biomass, and timber production for pulp. The company also engages in electricity and carbon credit generation and sales, biogas plant development, biomass sales, clean energy management, gas trading, research and development, timber trading, waste management, electricity management, biogas, biomethane and fertilizer management, and forest waste management. It was formerly known as Grupo Empresarial ENCE, S.A. and changed its name to ENCE Energía y Celulosa, S.A. in April 2012. Founded in 1957, it is headquartered in Madrid, Spain.
