Ultra Clean Holdings Surged on Strong Results and Improving Semiconductor Spending

Ultra Clean Holdings surged on strong quarterly results and a sharp inflection in the outlook for semiconductor capital spending, according to Rewey Asset Management's second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The stock delivered a 127.81% return during the quarter, making it the top performer in the RAM Smid Composite, which gained 20.06% overall. Rewey noted that memory chips are now in short supply as artificial intelligence becomes a massive consumer of memory, and while the firm believes the upcycle is still in its early stages, it has trimmed its position into strength. Ultra Clean Holdings closed at $101.46 per share on July 22, 2026, with a one-month return of negative 17.80% and a 52-week gain of 319.14%, giving it a market capitalization of $4.55 billion.

Ultra Clean appoints Michael Keogh as CFO effective August 5, 2026

Ultra Clean Holdings has named Michael Keogh as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective August 5, 2026, succeeding Sheri Savage. Keogh brings experience from Ford, Bright Machines, Apple, Stanley Black & Decker, and Intel, with a background in automation, advanced manufacturing, and large-scale finance. The appointment adds execution-focused leadership as the company pursues its UCT 3.0 transformation plans, though it does not meaningfully alter the near-term risk-reward balance. Ultra Clean’s investment narrative projects $4.0 billion in revenue and $266.3 million in earnings by 2029, requiring 24.9% annual revenue growth and a roughly $460 million earnings improvement from a current loss of $194.1 million. The company’s recent removal from several Russell value indices may pressure trading liquidity and sentiment ahead of second-quarter 2026 results.
