China Railway Construction Corporation Limited operates a construction business in Mainland China and internationally through five segments: Construction Operations; Planning, Design and Consultancy Operations; Manufacturing Operations; Real Estate Development Operations; and Other Business Operations. The Construction Operations segment builds infrastructure such as railways, highways, rail transits, water conservancy and hydropower, housing, municipal engineering, bridges, tunnels, airports, and wharves. The Planning, Design and Consultancy Operations segment provides planning, design, and consultancy services for civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The Manufacturing Operations segment develops, produces, and sells mechanical equipment including railway track maintenance and tunnel boring machinery, and manufactures track systems. The Real Estate Development Operations segment develops, constructs, and sells residential and commercial properties. The Other Business Operations segment includes trade and logistics, finance and insurance, and highway operation activities, as well as the purchase and sale of goods and materials and project investment and financial services. Founded in 1948 and headquartered in Beijing, the People's Republic of China, the company is a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Group.

China Railway Construction's first-half revenue and net profit both declined, with total new contracts down nearly 17%

China Railway Construction released its 2026 interim report. First-half operating revenue was 428.44 billion yuan, down 12.4 percent year on year. Net profit attributable to the parent was 8.69 billion yuan, down 18.8 percent. Net profit attributable to the parent excluding non-recurring items was 8.08 billion yuan, down 18.3 percent. Net operating cash flow was negative 78.856 billion yuan, up 0.8 percent year on year. Second-quarter operating revenue was 196.86 billion yuan, down 15.3 percent, and net profit attributable to the parent was 4.3 billion yuan, down 22.6 percent. During the reporting period, total new contracts amounted to 878.1583 billion yuan, down 16.85 percent year on year. Domestic new contracts were 754.6628 billion yuan, accounting for 85.94 percent of the total and down 19.89 percent. Overseas new contracts were 123.4955 billion yuan, accounting for 14.06 percent of the total and up 8.24 percent. The company said the revenue decline was mainly due to reduced business in engineering contracting, planning and design consulting, industrial manufacturing, real estate development, and materials and logistics. In the secondary market, as of the close on August 28, China Railway Construction's share price had fallen 16.62 percent for the year.
