SouthGobi Resources Ltd. is an integrated coal mining, development, and exploration company operating in Mongolia and China through its subsidiaries. It primarily explores for coking and thermal coal. Its flagship asset is the Ovoot Tolgoi open pit coal mine in the Umnugobi Aimag of Mongolia. Formerly SouthGobi Energy Resources Ltd., it changed its name to SouthGobi Resources Ltd. in May 2010 and is based in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
