1inch launches Aqua protocol to unlock liquidity for tokenized real-world assets
Decentralized finance protocol 1inch has launched Aqua, a shared liquidity protocol designed to improve efficiency for tokenized real-world assets. Co-founder and CEO Sergej Kunz said that roughly 80% of liquidity on decentralized exchanges sits idle, representing about $1.6 billion, and that Aqua enables direct asset-to-asset trading pairs such as SpaceX versus Apple stock. The protocol allows one pool of capital to back multiple pairs simultaneously, letting liquidity providers collect fees on every crossing. Kunz described this as a structurally new capability for tokenized equities, moving beyond simple dollar-denominated trades.
