Quantum Solutions Sells Another 1,000 ETH to Fund AI Data Center
Quantum Solutions, a Japan-listed company, has sold an additional 1,000 Ether, worth approximately 1.9 million US dollars, to invest in artificial intelligence infrastructure. The sale was executed through its Hong Kong subsidiary GPT Pals Studio on July 30 at an average price of around 1,903 US dollars per ETH, and is expected to record a loss of about 100,000 US dollars. The proceeds will be used to purchase Nvidia B300 and GB300 GPU systems for a new AI data center in Japan, under a memorandum of understanding signed with Integrated Capital on June 1, 2026. Quantum was previously the Japan-listed company with the largest Ether treasury, holding a peak of 6,668.8 ETH in early June 2026. However, since mid-June it has sold a total of 1,904 ETH, or nearly 29 percent of its original holdings. Most of these were acquired in late 2025 at prices above 4,000 US dollars, resulting in a substantial loss on the latest sale. The company currently still holds approximately 4,765 ETH, worth nearly 9.2 million US dollars, and has increased its approved selling limit to 4,375 ETH through October 30, indicating further sales may occur. Around 3,050 ETH is pledged as collateral for a loan in Singapore, and 1,714.8 ETH is held in GPT Pals Studio's trading account. This strategic shift reflects a bet that AI data center revenue will outperform holding Ether over the long term, despite risks from GPU hardware depreciation and the potential for a crypto market recovery.
