NVIDIA announced the Jetson Orin Nano 2, a new robotics computer for entry-level edge AI that delivers twice the inference performance of its predecessor while consuming 40% less power at the same performance. The module features 78 trillion operations per second of AI compute, 8GB of memory, and an 8-core Arm CPU, and is expected to be available in the first half of 2027. More than 3 million developers are building on NVIDIA's robotics stack, with Cognex, Doosan Bobcat, Matic, and Wing among the first to adopt or explore the new platform. Ecosystem partners including AAEON, ADLINK, Advantech, and Seeed Studio are building carrier boards, hardware systems, and reference solutions to accelerate time to market.

Advantech announced that its MIC-735 edge AI platform is advancing toward validation through the NVIDIA Halos AI System Inspection Lab, positioning it among the early platforms aligned with NVIDIA's safety-focused physical AI framework. The validation process establishes alignment with key safety standards including IEC 61508 and ISO 13849, helping customers streamline safety-related development and reduce downstream certification complexity. Powered by the NVIDIA IGX Thor T5000 platform, the MIC-735 integrates onboard and external sensor data to support real-time risk mitigation in robotics and industrial automation. The system also features certified emergency stop capabilities over secure IP-based networks and has achieved NVIDIA-Certified System status, confirming its readiness for production deployment in robotics, vision AI, and critical medical applications.
