US ITC bans Innoscience GaN products for infringing Infineon patent
The US International Trade Commission's final determination banning Innoscience's patent-infringing GaN products from the US market has been upheld after the presidential review period. The ruling confirms that Innoscience infringes an Infineon patent concerning GaN technology, resulting in import and sales bans. Infineon's Senior Vice President Johannes Schoiswohl stated the decision highlights the robustness of Infineon's intellectual property and reinforces its commitment to protecting its patent portfolio. This adds to a series of rulings in Infineon's favor, including German court decisions that prohibit Innoscience from importing, selling, and marketing infringing products in Germany and order damages. Infineon holds approximately 450 GaN patent families and is a leading integrated device manufacturer in the GaN market.
