CaoCao Inc. made its debut at WAIC 2026 on July 17, where Turing laureate and Chief Scientific Advisor Joseph Sifakis joined via video to discuss trustworthy Robotaxi scaling. Sifakis outlined three principles for trustworthy autonomous systems: Safe by Design, System Coordination, and Runtime Assurance, and noted that CaoCao's RoboX system aligns with this engineering approach. CaoCao proposed a capability framework with three pillars—Trustworthy Vehicles, Runtime Assurance, and Operations Systems—and CTO Zhao Chenhui detailed practices including China's first purpose-built Robotaxi with redundant vehicle-level architecture, an enhanced RAS remote safety system, and the Green Intelligent Mobility Hub for large-scale operations. The company also partnered with UNIDO AIM Global Centre of Excellence, Microsoft China, TÜV SÜD, and others to launch the Global Standardization Partnership Program for Trustworthy AI Ecosystem. CaoCao aims to move Robotaxis from trustworthy operation to replicable deployment and coordinated global scale-up.

CaoCao Inc. has officially launched Robotaxi testing without a safety driver behind the wheel in Hangzhou’s Binjiang District. The testing uses a station-triggered dispatch mechanism under real-world urban traffic conditions to validate driverless operations and service reliability on a limited and controlled scale. All vehicles are connected to the CaoCao Zhixing RAS Remote Safety Service Platform, which provides continuous safety monitoring, emergency call response, real-time remote assistance, and incident handling. CaoCao became the first company in Hangzhou approved for road testing of intelligent connected vehicles without onboard safety drivers in April this year and has deployed a fleet of around 100 Robotaxis in the city. The company is advancing autonomous driving services as the primary commercialization platform for Geely Holding Group’s RoboX strategy, using an end-to-end large model architecture and transitioning toward driverless operations ahead of the mass production of its purpose-built Eva Cab Robotaxi in 2027.

CaoCao has appointed Turing Award laureate Joseph Sifakis as chief scientific advisor of its artificial intelligence innovation center. Sifakis, a pioneer in trustworthy AI and autonomous systems, will provide academic support and strategic guidance as the Chinese mobility company accelerates its transformation into an AI-native enterprise. The appointment marks the first time Sifakis has been deeply involved in shaping the AI strategy of a Chinese technology firm. CaoCao recently launched its RoboX strategy, aiming to build a global embodied-AI mobility platform spanning robotaxi and robovan services.

Cao Cao Mobility has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Abu Dhabi government-backed AI technology company K2 Group to jointly promote the commercial deployment and operation of robotaxis in the UAE. Under the agreement, the two parties will begin local testing in Abu Dhabi within the year and plan to deploy the first batch of robotaxi vehicles. K2 Group will leverage its extensive local resources and strategic partnerships to provide testing and verification environments and operational infrastructure, while Cao Cao Mobility will contribute operational vehicles, technical support, and professional training. The partnership marks an acceleration of Cao Cao Mobility's robotaxi expansion in the Middle East and follows a previous strategic cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office.

CaoCao has entered into a strategic partnership with the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute to establish the CaoCao AI Innovation Center. The center will focus on breakthroughs in AI technologies across the entire mobility service chain and their commercial application, leveraging deep integration across industry, academia, and research. CaoCao recently unveiled its RoboX strategy and a Dual-100,000 Plan to deploy 100,000 Robotaxis and 100,000 Robovans by 2030. The new center will provide multidimensional, full-chain support for CaoCao’s full-scale AI transformation and the implementation of its RoboX strategy.

Caocao Mobility and autonomous driving technology company May Mobility have formed a strategic partnership to jointly explore large-scale commercial robotaxi operations in international markets. Under the agreement, the two companies will conduct feasibility studies and commercial exploration for robotaxi deployment, with pilot projects planned in key markets including Europe. Caocao Mobility will serve as the robotaxi fleet owner and operator, leveraging its strengths in ride-hailing platform operations, fleet management, customized vehicles, and large-scale commercial operations, while May Mobility will provide autonomous driving system support using its proprietary In-situ AI technology. The partnership advances Caocao Mobility's RoboX strategy, announced on June 18 as part of its full AI transformation, which aims to build an intelligent transportation system covering robotaxis and robovans as the primary commercialization vehicle for Geely Holding Group's RoboX initiative. May Mobility, which already operates autonomous mobility services in the United States and Japan, brings its deep learning, dynamic world model, and real-time inference engine capabilities to the collaboration.
