Thai FDA registers 9-valent HPV vaccine and Botulinum Antitoxin

The Food and Drug Administration has registered a 9-valent cervical cancer vaccine and a bivalent botulinum antitoxin, both produced domestically for the first time in Thailand and ASEAN. The 9-valent HPV vaccine resulted from technology transfer cooperation with INNOVAX and received marketing authorization on 24 July 2026. The Botulinum Antitoxin was developed with the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute of the Thai Red Cross Society and was registered on 6 July 2026, helping reduce import dependence and strengthening emergency preparedness. Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul joined an event showcasing these achievements at Government House. The National Vaccine Institute has managed funding under the Science, Research and Innovation Promotion Fund since 2022 to elevate Thailand into an ASEAN vaccine security hub.
