China Resources Chemical Materials PETG Phase II Project Breaks Ground, Total Capacity to Reach 100,000 Tonnes per Year

China Resources Chemical Materials Technology announced that its fundraising project, the Phase II of the Zhuhai China Resources Materials 100,000 tonnes per year PETG specialty polyester project, began construction on August 10, 2026. Once completed and at full production, the company will add 50,000 tonnes per year of PETG specialty polyester capacity, bringing its total PETG capacity to 100,000 tonnes per year. The announcement shows that the Phase I PETG project, with 50,000 tonnes per year, reached its usable condition in December 2021 and began production in January 2022. It has been operating stably with good profitability and high capacity utilization, and the company has built strong market recognition in the cosmetics packaging sector. Phase II will share Phase I's mature production management system, customer resources, and utility infrastructure, achieve technological iteration and upgrading, and optimize the product structure through capacity division. The company said the project will further consolidate its industry position in the copolyester field and strengthen the scale advantage and core competitiveness of its new materials segment. The project is currently in the engineering construction stage and will still need some time before it is put into operation.
