The company offers newsprint, publication paper, printing paper, communication paper, recycled-content colored construction paper, wrapping paper; containerboard and corrugated container; functional materials; and home and personal care products, such as disposable diapers for babies and adults, sanitary napkins, absorbent liners for light incontinence, various tissue products, wet wipes, and cleaning supplies. It is also involved in research and development of cellulose nanofiber. Daio Paper Corporation was incorporated in 1943 and is headquartered in Shikokuchuo, Japan.

Industry-wide support planned for newsprint supply after Nippon Paper's Yatsushiro mill halts operations

The Japan Paper Association and domestic paper manufacturers are considering supply support for newsprint following the suspension of operations at Nippon Paper Industries' Yatsushiro mill due to the Kumamoto earthquake. The Yatsushiro mill suffered extensive damage, including collapsed smokestacks, and there is no timeline for recovery. Nippon Paper also produces newsprint at its Iwanuma mill, but to ensure an industry-wide response, other major players such as Oji Holdings and Daio Paper, along with the Japan Paper Association, will take the lead in providing support.

Daio Paper to Withdraw from Indonesian Disposable Diaper Business

Daio Paper announced on the 17th that it will withdraw from its disposable diaper business in Indonesia. It will dissolve and liquidate its local subsidiary that produces and sells baby diapers. The company entered the market in 2013, but decided that continuing the business was difficult due to intensifying price competition and soaring global energy and material prices.
