Resonac raises full-year net profit forecast 3.8 times to 112.5 billion yen

Resonac Holdings announced on the 6th its outlook for consolidated net profit in the fiscal year ending December 2026 to be 112.5 billion yen, 3.8 times the previous year. With the semiconductor and electronic materials business performing well due to the expansion of the AI market, the company raised its forecast from the previous estimate of 77 billion yen, exceeding the average consensus forecast of 97.1 billion yen among 15 analysts. At the same time, it reported consolidated net profit for the January–June 2026 period of 48.4 billion yen, 2.4 times the same period a year earlier. At the earnings briefing, CFO Hideki Someya emphasized that inquiries for AI semiconductor-related materials are strengthening in the second half, and with considerable medium-term growth expected, the company plans to expand production capacity with maximum investment.

Resonac to Partially Spin Off Petrochemical Business, Listing Set for End of September

Resonac Holdings announced on the 6th that it will propose a partial spin-off of its wholly owned subsidiary, Crasus Chemical, which handles the petrochemical business, at a board meeting in late August. Crasus Chemical is scheduled to list on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market on September 29, and shares other than the less than 20% stake that Resonac Holdings will continue to hold will be distributed as a dividend in kind on October 1. A partial spin-off is a method in which the parent company retains a portion of the subsidiary's shares, and the company announced the start of consideration in February 2024 and has recently received approval for a business restructuring plan under the Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Act. The impact of the spin-off on consolidated results is said to be under review.
