Japan Engine Corporation designs, develops, manufactures, maintains, repairs, sells, and licenses engines and other components in Japan. Its UE engines are used in bulk carriers, tankers, car carrier ships, container ships, and other vessels. The company also manufactures and sells shield machine components for subway construction and tunnel boring, and performs machining and assembly of large products such as injection molding machines and testing devices. It additionally supplies pressure-relief control valve blocks, cylinder covers, piston crowns, piston heads, metallic sliding bearings, bedplates, shield machines, and resin granulators. Formerly Kobe Diesel Co., Ltd., it changed its name to Japan Engine Corporation in April 2017, was founded in 1910, and is headquartered in Akashi, Japan.
