Makita Corporation manufactures and sells electric power tools, pneumatic tools, and gardening and household equipment across Japan, Europe, North America, Asia, Central and South America, Oceania, the Middle East, and Africa. Its product lineup includes construction and building tools such as cordless power cutters, routers, breakers, random orbit sanders, cable cutters, and hole punchers, as well as gardening tools like robotic mowers, scarifiers, pole hedge trimmers, wheelbarrows, pruning shears, and backpack blowers. The company also offers cleaning tools, including cordless vacuum sweepers, upright cleaners, backpack vacuum cleaners, cooler & warmer boxes, and bar lights, along with parts, repairs, and accessories. Formerly known as Makita Electric Works, Ltd., it changed its name to Makita Corporation in April 1991 and was founded in 1915, headquartered in Anjo, Japan.

Makita first-quarter profit rises to 22.87 billion yen

Makita reported that its first-quarter profit attributable to owners of the parent rose to 22.87 billion yen from 19.28 billion yen a year earlier. Earnings per share increased to 88.70 yen from 72.07 yen, while revenue climbed to 206.55 billion yen from 186.61 billion yen. The company has not revised its full-year consolidated forecasts, citing uncertainties in the business environment and exchange-rate developments. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, Makita projects revenue of 820.0 billion yen, profit to owners of the parent of 81.0 billion yen, and basic earnings per share of 314.22 yen. Makita shares closed at 5,895 yen on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, up 3.93%.
