Tamron Announces Receipt of Acquisition Proposal from Sony Group for Full Subsidiary Status

Lens maker Tamron disclosed on the 30th that it has received a non-binding proposal from Sony Group aimed at making it a wholly owned subsidiary. In response to the proposal, the company has established a special committee and is exploring various options to enhance corporate value. Sony Group has also acknowledged the acquisition proposal. The online edition of business magazine Diamond reported on the 29th that the acquisition amount is likely to be around 200 billion yen.
