The Coastal Shipping Business segments engages in the transportation of materials comprising steel products, limestone, and cement by bulk carriers in domestic water areas; transportation of LPG, LNG, and other petroleum products by tankers; and vessel leasing. As of June 25, 2025, the company operated a fleet of 140 ocean going and 80 coastal vessels. NS United Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. was incorporated in 1950 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

NYK Line Launches Tender Offer for NS United Kaiun at 10,600 Yen per Share, Totaling 120.6 Billion Yen

NYK Line announced on the 31st that it will make NS United Kaiun, an equity-method affiliate, a consolidated subsidiary through a tender offer. The offer price is 10,600 yen per share, raising NYK's stake from the current 18.55% to 83.33%, with the total purchase amount reaching 120.6 billion yen. After the delisting, Nippon Steel, the largest shareholder, will continue to hold 16.67%.
