Acme United second-quarter net sales rise 16% to $62.7 million

Acme United Corporation reported a 16% increase in net sales to $62.7 million for the second quarter of 2026, while net income rose 6% to $5.1 million, or $1.22 per diluted share. Excluding sales from the My Medic acquisition completed in January 2026, comparable three-month sales increased 8%. For the first half, net sales grew 15% to $115.0 million, but net income declined 6% to $6.0 million, or $1.46 per diluted share, primarily due to first-quarter results. The My Medic business, which sells tactical and emergency response products directly to consumers, contributed to sales growth but had minimal impact on earnings in the quarter and first half because of its seasonal nature, with the majority of profitability historically generated in the fourth quarter. Chairman and CEO Walter C. Johnsen noted record revenues and operating income in the quarter, with U.S. first aid sales excluding My Medic up 10% and Westcott cutting tools up 8%, while cautioning that elevated tariffs will continue to pressure margins at a decreasing rate.

Acme United enters new $65 million credit facility with HSBC and City National Bank

Acme United Corporation has entered into a new $65 million syndicated credit facility with HSBC Bank USA and City National Bank, a U.S. subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada. The new facility replaces the company's prior $65 million credit facility with HSBC that was scheduled to expire on May 31, 2027, and is intended to provide liquidity for growth, acquisitions, dividends, and other business activities. The agreement expires on July 15, 2029, and contains customary pledges of collateral, covenants, representations and warranties materially similar to those of the prior agreement. HSBC will serve as administrative agent for the syndicate, and the new facility continues and enhances Acme United's longstanding relationship with HSBC while adding City National Bank as a new syndicate lender. Acme United's CFO Paul G. Driscoll said the facility gives the company greater financial flexibility to support growth plans, and CEO Walter C. Johnsen noted that bringing a second top-tier global bank into the credit facility diversifies funding sources.
