AIRA Shares Investment Outlook: Japanese Stock Market Boosted by AI and Semiconductors

AIRA Group, in collaboration with the Tokyo Stock Exchange, held a seminar to share perspectives on the Japanese stock market, which is being driven by the megatrends of AI and semiconductors. An executive from Japan Exchange Group noted that Japanese listed companies are placing greater emphasis on shareholders through increased dividends, share buybacks, and mergers and acquisitions. Meanwhile, Investment Lab pointed out that the Japanese stock market has delivered an average annual return of 13.4% over the past 15 years, and recommended that investors watch for opportunities in semiconductor manufacturers, companies adopting AI to enhance efficiency, and firms benefiting from AI replacing labor. Sumi Trust observed that global institutional investors still hold Japanese equities below their warranted allocation, reflecting potential for capital inflows into the Japanese market going forward. Panelists agreed that the Japanese stock market's uptrend is supported by fundamentals, including governance reforms, earnings growth, and global business expansion. Mr. Pairoj Luengthalermpong, Chief Executive Officer of AIRA Securities Public Company Limited, said that bringing together experts helps Thai investors access in-depth information to effectively formulate investment strategies in the Japanese stock market. He also recommended gradual investment through dollar-cost averaging and focusing on earnings fundamentals and governance rather than chasing stocks based on trends.
