ALPHAX's APDL Joins Hands with JDB to Open Path for Solar Loans in Laos Exceeding 400 Megawatts
Alpha Divisions Public Company Limited, or ALPHAX, disclosed that Alpha Power Development (Lao) Sole Co., Ltd., or APDL, and its subsidiaries, which develop and invest in renewable energy projects in Laos, have signed a memorandum of understanding, or MOU, with Joint Development Bank Public, or JDB, to set an initial framework for cooperation in considering loan support for solar power plant projects on a project-by-project basis. The projects that may be considered under this MOU framework have a total installed capacity of more than 400 megawatts, which is only part of the feasibility study framework for developing solar energy projects under the Memorandum of Agreement, or MOA, that APDL signed with Electricité du Laos, or EDL, the state electricity enterprise of Laos. This cooperation is seen as adding funding source options and strengthening financial readiness for future project development, with loan consideration to be carried out on a project-by-project basis, while financial terms such as interest rates, fees, loan tenors, repayment and collateral will be considered and negotiated as appropriate and in line with market conditions at the time. Mr. Kamphon Suangburanakul, Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Divisions Public Company Limited, said that the signing of this MOU with JDB is another important step in adding funding source options and strengthening the group's readiness to build on the development of solar energy projects from its existing project base toward opportunities to expand its renewable energy portfolio in the future, alongside supporting energy security and the sustainable growth of clean energy in Laos.
