Avacta Group Plc develops cancer therapies through its subsidiaries, operating in the United Kingdom, South Korea, and internationally. Its lead product candidate is AVA6000, a peptide drug conjugate form of doxorubicin, an approved cancer drug with known severe toxicities. The company also develops AVA6103, a peptide drug conjugate technology designed to deliver exatecan, a potent topoisomerase I inhibitor, directly to tumors while limiting exposure of the released exatecan in normal tissues, and AVA7100, which drives localization to fibroblast activation protein expressing tumors. Avacta was incorporated in 2003 and is headquartered in London, the United Kingdom.

Avacta Appoints Patrick Vink as Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director

Avacta Group Plc has appointed Patrick Vink as Non-Executive Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director to its Board of Directors. Vink currently serves as Chairman at Arch Biopartners Inc and is a board member of Spero Therapeutics Inc, where he chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. He also chairs three privately held companies: Micreos Group, Secura Bio Inc, and F2G Ltd. Previously, Vink was Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at Cubist Pharmaceuticals Inc and a member of the Executive Committee of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations between 2013 and 2015. Avacta's shares were trading down 1.63% to 69.35 pounds on the London Stock Exchange.
