Aware Stock Rises 13.8% After Q2 Earnings Despite Revenue Decline and Wider Loss

Shares of Aware, Inc. have gained 13.8% since the company reported second-quarter 2026 results, outperforming the S&P 500 Index's 4.2% gain over the same period. Revenue fell 16.5% to $3.3 million, driven by a 32.8% drop in software license revenue, while net loss widened to $2.6 million, or $0.12 per diluted share, from a loss of $1.8 million, or $0.08 per diluted share, a year earlier. Recurring revenues were broadly stable at $2.73 million, with software subscriptions up 10.2% to $605,000, partially offsetting lower maintenance revenue. Management attributed the weaker results to softness in standalone products and slower federal procurement due to the government shutdown, but noted improving federal market activity and expects a stronger second half of 2026, supported by subscription renewals and cost-reduction measures.

PDEXCIL and AWARE partner to help Indian powerloom sector meet EU digital product passport rules

The Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council of India and Amsterdam-based data infrastructure provider AWARE have signed a memorandum of understanding to help Indian powerloom producers comply with upcoming European Union digital product passport regulations. The agreement was formalised at Bharat Tex 2026 in New Delhi, targeting traceability requirements under the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation that will soon mandate reliable documentation of material origin, composition, and production history for textiles. AWARE will bring blockchain-anchored tokenisation technology to create a unique data token for each production batch, supporting digital records such as blockchain-based Crypto TCs and laying the groundwork for the digital product passport system. PDEXCIL will facilitate technology introduction through workshops, training, and webinars, while AWARE offers preferential terms and technical support to verified members, with data sovereignty ensuring producers retain control of their supply chain information. Initial implementation projects are expected to launch shortly with selected PDEXCIL member units.
