Battalion Oil Corporation is an independent energy company focused on the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of onshore oil and natural gas assets in the United States. It holds interests in the Delaware Basin across Pecos, Reeves, Ward, and Winkler counties in Texas. The company sells crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids, mainly to independent marketers, oil and natural gas companies, and gas pipeline companies. Formerly known as Halcón Resources Corporation, it changed its name to Battalion Oil Corporation in January 2020; it was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
