Baring Emerging Europe PLC is a closed-ended equity mutual fund launched and managed by Baring Asset Management Limited. It invests in public equities in European emerging markets, across diversified sectors and market capitalizations, primarily using a reasonably priced growth (GARP) approach. The fund employs fundamental analysis combining top-down and bottom-up stock selection, focusing on factors such as growth, liquidity, currency, management, and valuation. Its performance is benchmarked against a customized index based on the FTSE Greater Eastern Europe with Turkey Index, in which Russia and Turkey are reduced to 50% and 15% of their index market capitalizations respectively. It was formerly known as Baring Emerging Europe Trust, was formed in January 1994, and is domiciled in the United Kingdom.
