Cavco Industries Posts Record Revenue of $610 Million, Backlog Surges Over 50%

Cavco Industries reported record quarterly net revenue of $610 million for its fiscal first quarter of 2027, up 9.5% from $556.9 million a year earlier. Factory-built housing revenue rose 9.4% to $586 million, while financial services revenue climbed 13.3% to $24 million. The company shipped a quarterly record 5,657 units, and its backlog grew more than 50% from both the prior quarter and the same period last year. Brasada Capital Management Highlights Cavco Industries' Dominance in Concentrated Manufactured Housing Industry

Brasada Capital Management highlighted Cavco Industries as a dominant player in the highly consolidated manufactured housing industry in its Q2 2026 investor letter. Cavco, one of the largest U.S. producers of factory-built homes, operates 33 manufacturing lines and distributes through 92 company-owned retail locations plus independent retailers, supported by its insurance and mortgage subsidiaries. The top three manufacturers—Clayton Homes, Skyline Champion, and Cavco—control more than 86% of total industry production, creating significant barriers to entry and allowing rational pricing and outsized returns on capital. Cavco shares closed at $570.05 on July 22, 2026, with a market capitalization of $4.39 billion, posting a one-month return of negative 6.32% but a 52-week gain of 38.35%. The firm emphasized that housing, unlike AI, is a centuries-old industry with enduring demand.

House passes affordable housing bill, sending it to Trump for signature

The U.S. House passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act by a 358-32 vote, sending the bipartisan affordable housing legislation to President Donald Trump for final approval. The Senate had approved the measure 85-5 on Monday, and Trump is scheduled to sign it at the Capitol on Wednesday. The bill aims to boost housing supply by waiving or speeding up environmental reviews for home construction and capping the number of single-family homes that large institutional investors can own. Homebuilders such as D.R. Horton, Lennar, PulteGroup, NVR, and Taylor Morrison Home, along with building-products supplier Builders FirstSource and manufactured housing companies Champion Homes and Cavco Industries, are seen as potential beneficiaries.
