Educational Development Corporation announced expense reductions expected to exceed $1.2 million in annual savings, while its active brand partner count rose above 5,200 following a March recruiting special. CEO Craig White said the company added over 1,300 new brand partners during the Pi Day promotion and has maintained that level since. First-quarter net revenues fell to $4.8 million from $7.1 million a year earlier, with a net loss of $1.4 million, or $0.16 per share. Cash increased to $1.8 million from $1.3 million, driven primarily by $1.5 million in cash flow from inventory reductions. Management described the results as an early stage of a multi-quarter turnaround and highlighted new initiatives including an AI-assisted Book Buddy tool named Read.
