Founder Group Joins Malaysia's Largest Solar Initiative
Founder Group Limited announced that its subsidiary, Founder Energy Sdn. Bhd., is participating in Malaysia's largest-ever utility-scale solar initiative, the Large-Scale Solar 6 (LSS6) programme, which aims to add 2,500 megawatts of solar capacity and 1,250 megawatts of battery storage with investments between RM13 and RM15 billion. This programme, launched by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation in July 2026, mandates hybrid solar and battery solutions for the first time and targets full operation by the end of 2029. Founder Energy, involved in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, expects substantial opportunities from both the construction phase and long-term asset management. In other market news, Samsung Heavy Industries rose 8.3% to close at 21,600 won, while Jiangsu Leadmicro Nano-Equipment Technology fell 6.8% to 107.45 yuan. GE Vernova gained 2.6% to $921.94, Tesla edged up 0.3% to $357.01 after joining a strategic alliance for a Virtual Power Plant in California, and Equinor closed flat at 405.80 Norwegian kroner after its partnership secured a second lithium offtake agreement with LG Energy Solution.
