Hurco Stock Slips 1.8% Despite Q3 Profit Turnaround

Hurco Companies, Inc. shares have slipped 1.8% since reporting fiscal third-quarter earnings, even as the company swung to a profit on stronger sales. For the quarter ended July 31, 2026, Hurco posted sales and service fees of $47.3 million, up 3.2% year over year, and net income of $2.3 million, or $0.35 per share, compared with a net loss of $3.7 million, or $0.58 per share, a year earlier. Orders rose 25.3% to $51.4 million, with increases across all regions, while gross margin improved to 28% of sales from 20%. CEO Greg Volovic attributed the turnaround to strategic pricing, tighter cost controls, and improved fixed-overhead absorption, but cautioned that the cyclical industry's recovery is not yet certain. The company plans to introduce its next-generation control technology at IMTS in Chicago, supported by a debt-free balance sheet with $52.1 million in cash.
