IAMGOLD Corporation has completed the sale of its indirect 35% interest in the Bambadji Joint Venture in Senegal to Fortuna Mining Corp., generating approximately $70 million in cash proceeds before taxes and transaction costs. The total consideration payable by Fortuna to the joint venture partners on a combined 100% basis consists of $200 million in cash at closing and a 0.5% net smelter return royalty capped on the first 1.75 million ounces of gold produced from the Bambadji permit. IAMGOLD retains its proportionate share of the royalty. The divestiture monetizes a non-core exploration asset and supports the company's focus on its operating and development portfolio.

Iamgold Stock May Rise on Strait of Hormuz Concession, Options Trade Suggests

A U.S.-Iran peace deal that could place the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian jurisdiction may weaken the petrodollar and boost gold, creating a potential catalyst for Iamgold stock. Shares of the gold exploration and mining company have lost 31% since late February, but options volatility skew for the July 17 expiration shows protected bullishness, with rising call implied volatility at higher strikes indicating traders seek upside leverage. An inductive analysis shows that when IAG stock prints only three up weeks in a 10-week period, it has averaged an 8% gain over the next four weeks since 2023. A bull call spread using the 18 and 19 strikes expiring July 17 costs a net debit of $45 per spread and offers a maximum payout of over 122% if shares reach $19 at expiration.
