Jasper Therapeutics beats Q2 expectations but shares fall after results
Jasper Therapeutics reported better-than-expected second-quarter 2026 results, with an adjusted loss of $0.10 per share versus the analyst consensus forecast for a loss of $0.28 per share. The clinical-stage biotechnology company posted a net loss of $2.8 million, with research and development expenses of $5.1 million and general and administrative costs of $4.1 million. Jasper completed its acquisition of Kira Pharmaceuticals in July through an all-stock transaction and closed a private placement that generated $132 million in gross proceeds, co-led by Affinity Asset Advisors and Ikarian Capital. The company said the financing extends its expected funding runway through the second half of 2028. Jasper is advancing three clinical-stage programmes, including KP-104 in a Phase 2 basket trial with interim results expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, briquilimab moving towards a pre-BLA meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and a planned clinical trial application for KP-701 in the first quarter of 2027. Despite the earnings beat, shares fell 4.24% in pre-market trading.
