MAIA Biotechnology announced initial efficacy data from Part C of its Phase 2 THIO-101 trial showing a 90.5% disease control rate in third-line non-small cell lung cancer patients treated with ateganosine followed by cemiplimab. The interim result, based on 19 of 21 efficacy-evaluable patients who had at least one post-treatment tumor scan, nearly triples the 25–35% disease control rate reported for standard chemotherapy. Part C enrolled a more heavily pre-treated population, all of whom had previously received docetaxel and were resistant to both immunotherapy and other chemotherapies. The company recently completed international enrollment in Part C, and the combination has shown an acceptable safety profile to date.
