Masimo Receives FDA Clearance for Continuous Oxygen Delivery Monitoring

Masimo, a Danaher company, announced FDA 510(k) clearance for its Root with LiDCO hemodynamic monitoring solution, including the Masimo LiDCO sensor, enabling continuous monitoring of oxygen delivery. The system combines continuous noninvasive hemoglobin, Masimo SET oxygen saturation, and cardiac output to provide a beat-to-beat view of oxygen being delivered to tissue. Dr. Basil Matta, Chief Medical Officer at Masimo, said the technology gives clinicians a continuous view of oxygen delivery and helps them better understand changes in a patient's oxygen supply as they occur. Clinical studies cited by the company showed preoperative optimization of oxygen delivery reduced mortality from 17% to 3% in one trial, and another trial demonstrated a 75% reduction in 28-day mortality when targeting oxygen delivery greater than 600 mL/min/m².

Danaher beats Q2 earnings estimates but cuts full-year core revenue growth outlook

Danaher Corporation delivered second-quarter results that beat earnings estimates, yet investors remain concerned after the company cut its full-year core revenue growth outlook and reported weaker-than-expected bioprocessing revenue. Non-GAAP adjusted earnings per share reached $1.94, above the $1.83 consensus, while revenue grew 5.5% year-over-year to $6.3 billion. However, the company lowered the upper end of its 2026 core revenue growth forecast to 4% from 6%, citing weaker respiratory testing revenue, and disclosed that over $100 million in bioprocessing revenue shifted into next year. BofA maintained a Buy rating but cut its price target to $230 from $270, noting the results were messier than expected and the stock fell 11%. Danaher raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $8.45 to $8.60, reflecting optimism from strong quarterly performance and the early completion of the Masimo acquisition.

Apple Fails to Overturn $634 Million Masimo Verdict

Apple failed to overturn a $634 million jury verdict in a patent dispute with medical technology company Masimo. A federal judge in California rejected Apple's request to set aside the award, which centered on blood oxygen measurement technology in certain Apple Watch models. The court also found that Apple misappropriated two of 14 Masimo trade secrets but declined to issue an injunction and ruled that Masimo could not seek monetary damages on that part of the case. Masimo, now part of Danaher, had sought as much as $3.1 billion tied to the trade-secret claims and has filed an appeal over that portion of the ruling. Apple has argued that its engineers developed the health-monitoring features independently.

Danaher Raises Full-Year EPS Guidance After Q2 Beat and Early Masimo Close

Danaher Corporation reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $6.3 billion, with core revenue up 3% year-over-year, and raised its full-year adjusted diluted EPS guidance to a range of $8.45 to $8.60. Non-respiratory core growth accelerated to 4.5%, a 150-basis-point improvement from the first quarter, driven by recovery in life sciences and diagnostics end markets. Adjusted diluted EPS came in at $1.94, an 8% increase, while free cash flow reached $1.3 billion for the quarter. The company closed its acquisition of Masimo in early June, which delivered high single-digit revenue growth in the first half, and announced the pending acquisition of StatLab, a pathology consumables manufacturer with approximately $250 million in 2025 revenue. Bioprocessing orders grew mid-teens in both consumables and equipment, though approximately $100 million in chromatography resin revenue shifted from 2026 into 2027 due to customer site readiness and production schedule changes. Full-year core revenue guidance was maintained at 3% to 4%, with third-quarter revenue growth expected at 2% to 3%, including a 250-basis-point headwind from respiratory testing.

Danaher Set to Report Q2 Earnings With Positive Surprise Signal

Danaher Corporation is scheduled to release second-quarter 2026 results on July 21 before market open, with the Zacks Consensus Estimate for revenues pegged at $6.09 billion and earnings at $1.84 per share. The earnings estimate has risen a penny in the past seven days and implies a 2.2% increase from the year-ago quarter, while the revenue estimate indicates a 2.6% rise. The company's bottom line surpassed the consensus in each of the preceding four quarters, delivering an average beat of 6.7%. Zacks' model predicts another beat this time, as Danaher carries an Earnings ESP of +0.62% and a Zacks Rank of 2. Key drivers include strength in the bioprocessing business within the Biotechnology segment, where the consensus sales estimate is $1.95 billion, and the June 2026 acquisition of Masimo Corp. for $9.9 billion, which is expected to have enhanced the diagnostics portfolio. However, escalating costs and higher interest expenses may have weighed on profitability.

Danaher Completes $9.9B Acquisition of Masimo Corporation

Danaher has completed its $9.9 billion acquisition of Masimo Corporation, a specialist in pulse oximetry and patient monitoring solutions. Masimo will now operate as a standalone company within Danaher's Diagnostics segment, retaining its brand identity as a wholly owned subsidiary, and its common stock has been delisted from the NASDAQ. Danaher views the deal as a strategic move to enhance its diagnostics portfolio in acute care settings through Masimo's sensor and AI-monitoring technologies, expecting it to accelerate Masimo's global reach. The company's current 2026 guidance remains unchanged for the second quarter, as Masimo is not expected to contribute materially until later in the year, with updated full-year 2026 financial guidance to be provided during the second-quarter earnings release.

Masimo, a Danaher company, receives FDA clearance for AI-enabled opioid-induced respiratory depression detection feature

Masimo, a Danaher company, received FDA 510(k) clearance for an AI-enabled opioid-induced respiratory depression detection feature integrated into its Radius VSM wearable continuous patient monitor. The clearance, announced on 22 June 2026, highlights Danaher's push to advance pulse oximetry beyond basic vital sign tracking toward AI-driven, clinically actionable insights in hospital monitoring. While the new feature aligns with Danaher's strategy of compounding recurring consumables and services revenue while upgrading its technology base, it is unlikely on its own to shift near-term catalysts tied to broader healthcare demand or risks from China policy changes and biopharma funding softness. Investors may look to the upcoming Q2 2026 earnings call on 21 July for management's framing of Masimo's AI-driven monitoring within Danaher's wider innovation and margin ambitions.

Danaher Stock Falls 22% This Year After Masimo Acquisition

Danaher's stock has dropped more than 22% this year, largely due to its $9.9 billion acquisition of Masimo, which expands the company beyond life sciences consumables into clinical patient monitoring. The deal raised concerns about a patent dispute with Apple and added significant debt. Danaher reported first-quarter revenue of $5.95 billion, up 3% year over year, and earnings per share of $1.45, up 9.8%. The company expects the Masimo acquisition to add $0.15 to $0.20 to adjusted diluted EPS in the first full year, scaling to $0.70 by year five, and raised its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $8.35 to $8.55. The stock now trades at just over 20 times forward earnings, well below its typical decade-long valuation, though integration risks and the Apple patent fight remain concerns.
