AI investment in wound care hits $252.3 billion as adoption surges
Corporate AI investment in biologic therapies for wound care reached $252.3 billion in 2024, while generative AI adoption across healthcare applications jumped from 33% to 71%, according to a new BCC Research report. Private AI investment accelerated 44.5% last year, with the U.S. leading at $109.1 billion compared to China's $9.3 billion. Key companies securing funding include Swift Medical with a $35 million Series B plus $8 million in additional funding, Spectral AI with a $22.6 million combined raise, and Cellino Biotech with a $25 million ARPA-H award. The report highlights that AI-powered digital platforms, smart dressings, and AI-guided bioprinting are reshaping treatment paradigms, while regulatory complexity and data privacy remain barriers, especially in Europe.
