It also provides liquidity to clients in the OTC energy markets; market data, analytics, and market commentary; energy services, including gas, power, environmental, and crude oil markets; and market-making services across commodities markets, such as metals, agricultural products, and energy markets. In addition, the company offers OTC traded hedging and customized OTC derivatives solutions; and risk management solutions across a spectrum of markets, including agriculture, currency, and interest rate markets for trading houses, producers and consumers, and banks and distributors. Further, it engages in the digital assets business, which allows investors to build structured notes across asset classes, including commodities, equities, foreign exchange, and fixed-income products for private banks, hedge funds, crypto-native trading firms, crypto exchange-traded product (ETP) providers, proprietary trading firms, independent asset managers, family offices, pension funds, index providers, and corporates; and a portfolio of structured Notes, OTC derivatives, crypto-settled instruments, CME crypto futures, cash and carry, and bitcoin and ethereum ETF. Additionally, the company offers technology platforms, including Neon, a trading, risk, and data platform; and Agile, a commodity broking platform. Marex Q2 2026 profit rises 56% to $166 million

Marex reported record second-quarter 2026 results with adjusted profit before tax up 56% year over year to $166 million on revenue of $696 million, a 39% increase. Adjusted profit before tax margin expanded to 23.8% from 21.3% a year earlier, and adjusted basic earnings per share rose 59% to $1.72. The company said 77 clients now generate more than $5 million of annual revenue on a run-rate basis, up from 49 in 2025 and 36 in 2024, driven by existing clients expanding their platform usage. Clearing revenue grew 16% to $161 million as average clearing balances rose 36% to $19.1 billion, while agency and execution revenue increased 35% to $351 million, including record prime services revenue of $120 million. Market making revenue more than doubled to $118 million, and solutions revenue climbed 74% to $71 million. Management expressed confidence in achieving the top end of its 10% to 20% annual growth target range.

MGM in talks with People, Vertex to acquire Crinetics for $10B, and more key deals this week

MGM Resorts has reportedly started discussions with People for a potential buyout after Barry Diller’s media company offered to acquire the casino giant in a transaction worth $12.4 billion last month. Vertex Pharmaceuticals will acquire Crinetics Pharmaceuticals for a total equity value of about $10 billion, or nearly $8.8 billion net of estimated cash acquired. German engine manufacturer Deutz agreed to acquire military vehicle producer FFG Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft in a transaction valued at approximately €1.6 billion, or $1.8 billion. Perfect signed a definitive merger agreement with ProjectNY, an entity controlled by founder and CEO Alice Chang, under which the company will become privately held at $2.00 per share. Axos Nevada, a subsidiary of Axos Financial, announced a definitive agreement to acquire Arc Technologies, a financial technology platform serving technology and growth companies. Qiagen soared 11% after a report that the European molecular testing company is seeing early takeover interest from private equity firms including EQT AB and Advent. Marex Group agreed to acquire Bright Point International to strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and expand access to China's markets.

Marex Group to acquire Bright Point International

Marex Group announced its decision to acquire Bright Point International, a Singapore-based clearing business, to expand its footprint across the Asia-Pacific region and provide access to markets in China. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The acquisition is expected to drive additional revenues by adding clients and increasing client balances, and is also expected to provide material synergies from the internalization of some clearing activities. The transaction will add approximately $800 million in client balances and over 70 employees across Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Norway and the United Kingdom. The deal is estimated to close by late 2026 or early 2027.

Marex completes redomiciliation to Bermuda

Marex Group Limited has completed its redomiciliation to Bermuda from England and Wales, effective July 1, 2026. The move follows shareholder approval on May 21, 2026, receipt of global regulatory approvals, and sanction of the scheme of arrangement by the English High Court on June 26, 2026. Chief Executive Officer Ian Lowitt stated that the redomiciliation is expected to rationalize the corporate structure and regulatory framework, deliver cost savings and efficiencies, and align with the company's Nasdaq listing under US-style Bermuda corporate law.
