Masan High-Tech Materials plans Nui Phao mine expansion to attract foreign investors

Masan High-Tech Materials has announced plans to expand its Nui Phao mine and Nui Chiem site in Vietnam, potentially introducing 115 million tonnes of tungsten-polymetallic resources. Chairman Danny Le said the expansion could extend mining and processing activities for another 20 to 30 years and strengthen the company's position as non-China tungsten supply diminishes. The move aligns with government goals for sustainable mining and deeper domestic processing. Parent company Masan Group is exploring the sale of up to a 5% stake in the mining division to international investors, with negotiations underway with parties from Japan, Australia, Europe, and the US. The company also plans to move its listing to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange by the first quarter of 2027. Vietnam was the world's second-largest tungsten producer last year, behind China, with an estimated output of 3,000 tonnes.
