Bitmine buys $70 million in Ethereum, total holdings reach $14.8 billion
Cryptocurrency investment firm Bitmine Immersion Technologies announced that it purchased 28,086 ETH (worth approximately $70 million) over the past week, increasing its total Ethereum holdings to 5,929,198 ETH. At a conversion rate of $2,495 per ETH, the purchase amount is about $70 million, and the company's total Ethereum holdings have reached approximately $14.8 billion, representing about 4.9% of the total Ethereum supply. The company has staked approximately 5.06 million ETH (about 85% of its total holdings), expecting annual staking revenue of about $330 million. Additionally, it holds 211 BTC, investments of $180 million in Beast Industries and $91 million in Eightco Holdings, as well as cash and securities of approximately $593 million, bringing total assets to about $15.7 billion. Chairman Tom Lee maintains a bullish stance on Ethereum, stating it is the best-performing asset since June 30, along with Bitcoin and Solana. Following the announcement, Ethereum rose from $2,489 to $2,507, and has been above its 200-day moving average for 20 consecutive days.
