Oric Pharmaceuticals Inc

ORIC Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and developing therapies to counter resistance mechanisms in cancers in the United States. Its clinical-stage candidates include enozertinib (formerly ORIC-114), a brain-penetrant, orally bioavailable irreversible inhibitor in Phase 1b that selectively targets EGFR exon 20 and HER2 exon 20 with high potency toward exon 20 insertion mutations, and rinzimetostat (formerly ORIC-944), an allosteric inhibitor of polycomb repressive complex 2 for prostate cancer, also in Phase 1b. The company has clinical trial collaboration and supply agreements with Bayer to evaluate ORIC-944 with the AR inhibitor Nubeqa, and with Johnson & Johnson to evaluate ORIC-944 with the AR inhibitor Erleada. ORIC Launches Phase 3 Prostate Cancer Trial, Reports Wider Q2 Loss

ORIC Pharmaceuticals reported second-quarter results on August 3 and launched Himalayas-1, a global Phase 3 trial of its lead prostate cancer drug rinzimetostat, while holding $387.6 million in cash and investments. The trial is designed to enroll roughly 600 patients across more than 250 sites in 25 countries, randomizing them 1:1 to rinzimetostat plus darolutamide against a physician's choice of an androgen receptor inhibitor or docetaxel, with radiographic progression-free survival as the primary endpoint and overall survival as the key secondary measure. ORIC paired the launch with a supply deal under which Bayer provides its approved drug NUBEQA at no cost for the trial, while ORIC kept full global rights to rinzimetostat. Research and development spending rose to $36.3 million for the quarter from $30.5 million a year earlier, and the net loss widened to $41.5 million from $36.4 million, though loss per share narrowed to $0.38 from $0.47 after the weighted average share count climbed from about 78.1 million shares to 108 million. The company's second program, enozertinib, is running four separate Phase 1b studies in EGFR-mutated lung cancer, with data from the atypical mutation study scheduled for the ESMO Congress in October, and ORIC says its cash position funds operations into the second half of 2028.

ORIC Pharmaceuticals Q2 Loss Widens to $41.49 Million as Prostate Cancer Trial Advances

ORIC Pharmaceuticals reported a wider net loss for the second quarter of 2026, driven by higher operating expenses as it advances its clinical pipeline. The net loss reached $41.49 million, or $0.38 per share, compared with $36.35 million, or $0.47 per share, in the same period last year. Cash, cash equivalents and investments totaled $387.6 million as of June 30, 2026, which the company expects will fund operations into the second half of 2028. ORIC initiated the global Phase 3 Himalayas-1 trial evaluating rinzimetostat in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer previously treated with abiraterone, and entered a supply agreement with Bayer to provide NUBEQA at no cost for the trial. The company expects primary endpoint results from that Phase 3 trial in the second half of 2028, and plans to report Phase 1 data for enozertinib in non-small cell lung cancer in the second half of 2026.

ORIC Pharmaceuticals Initiates Himalayas-1 Phase 3 Trial of Rinzimetostat with Darolutamide in mCRPC

ORIC Pharmaceuticals has initiated the Himalayas-1 global Phase 3 registrational trial evaluating rinzimetostat in combination with NUBEQA, also known as darolutamide, in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer previously treated with abiraterone. The trial is expected to enroll approximately 600 patients from over 250 sites in 25 countries, randomized 1:1 to receive 400 mg once daily rinzimetostat plus darolutamide versus physician's choice of an androgen receptor inhibitor or docetaxel. The primary endpoint is radiographic progression-free survival, with overall survival as a key secondary endpoint.
