PayPoint reports solid Q1, on track to meet FY27 market expectations

PayPoint Plc reported a solid first-quarter performance for the three months ended 30 June 2026, with the Group on track to meet market expectations for the full year. Group net revenue declined 6.4% to £39.5 million, reflecting a challenging trading environment and a strong prior-year comparator. Within the Group, Network Services net revenue fell 6.5% to £21.6 million, Digital Payments & Open Banking rose 4.1% to £3.2 million, Merchant Services decreased 6.1% to £7.7 million, and Love2shop dropped 9.8% to £7.0 million. Chief Executive Nick Wiles noted that the business reorganisation has been largely completed, with early signs of enhanced accountability and focus, and that performance is expected to be weighted towards the second half of the financial year. The company also declared a final dividend of 20.0 pence per share, an increase of 2% on the prior year, and has returned £50 million through its share buyback programme as at 30 June 2026, with a third tranche commencing on 1 July 2026.

PayPoint completes acquisition of AperiData to strengthen Open Banking capabilities

PayPoint has completed the acquisition of AperiData, a real-time credit reference agency and Open Banking platform, following a previous £1 million strategic investment. The deal adds AperiData's real-time financial assessment tools to PayPoint's multichannel payments offering, enabling organisations to gain better insight into customers' financial circumstances when agreeing payment plans. The two companies have collaborated since 2023 and jointly developed the award-winning Financial Information System Customer Support Tool. AperiData will continue to scale its solutions across the UK as part of PayPoint Group.
